Globally, when the lockdown started, there were many moments of panic. Something I noticed, also in my own country, is that people were not really that afraid of Covid-19, but rather had a fear of having too little during quarantine. The result of this fear is hoarding, buying things in excessive quantities. I made the work TPC (Toilet Paper Crisis) around the phenomenon of hoarding and especially the hoarding of toilet paper.

For TPC, I searched around my house for alternatives to toilet paper. This went surprisingly easy, some paper towels, a napkin, ... Then I put these different pieces of paper in my analogue photo enlarger and printed them on photosensitive paper. Literally “enlarging” ensures that one cannot immediately see what is being depicted. The final work is a square, showing the alternatives of toilet paper.
